Our legendary art-filled party always signals the start of ISF season, and we’re back for another smashing festival kickoff! Speaking to our festival theme of inter/dependence are a phenomenal line-up of chefs, artists and musicians.
A compelling performance by Nisha Patel starts off the evening – the Poet Laureate Emeritus of the City of Edmonton brings her distinctive voice to the stage. A trans-continental choral performance weaving together traditional sounds from South Asia, the Middle East, and East Africa highlights the night, orchestrated by the singular composer/conductor Hussein Janmohamed. To cap it all off, we will dance the night away with DJ Lil India and the Afro-Caribbean rhythms of DJ Nea.
Chef Tushar Tondvalkar curates an exquisite menu exploring ancestral migrations. Featuring Indian Pantry, Kula Kitchen and Ono Vancouver – together, the cuisines from their homelands celebrate the brilliance of immigrants.
Don your finest (the cameras will be out), and bring an appetite and your dancing shoes. Your ticket includes food and a complimentary beverage.
