Closing Cabaret

Now more than ever, it is essential to cultivate joyful and inspired spaces. So who better to wrap up the 13th festival edition than some of the most vibrant young artists in our city! With roots in rich histories, these inventive performers are claiming space and moving artistic expression forward. 

Start the night grooving to the twisted beats of DJ Vixen Von Flex, and then have your mind blown by gravity-defying animal drag led by the enigmatic and electric Batty Banks along with Ra and Bongganisa.

The evening will rise to a crescendo with an epic trio of musicians presenting a brand-new collaboration. Featuring one of Vancouver’s most exciting trumpeters Feven Kidane, the innovative jazz fusion sounds of Shruti Ramani, and the wondrous bass player Harmeet Kaur Virdee. 

The evening closes out with a bumpin’ dance party! DJ Business Bacha joins DJ Vixen Von Flex onstage to send us spinning into the night. When your feet are too tired from dancing, grab a mouthwatering Mumbai-street-style roti wrap from the Frankie Street Food truck.

The genesis of this evening came from Nhylar/Dimple Takhtani and Anya Rawla, both artists and Indian Summer team members. They are inspired by creating spaces for unconventional art forms and fostering intergenerational connections.
