Rajvir Rao

Rajvir is a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for community engagement, with deep roots as a first-generation Canadian from Surrey, British Columbia. Growing up in an immigrant family, she developed a strong sense of connection and commitment to empowering others through inclusive initiatives. Rajvir brings a wealth of expertise in public affairs, including stakeholder engagement, government relations, issues management, and communications—skills she has honed through impactful collaborations with organizations such as City of Burnaby, Metro Vancouver, Burnaby Refinery, and BC Housing.
Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional career. Rajvir has played significant roles in nonprofit boards and community organizations, including serving as a the former President and a board director for the International Associations of Public Participation of Canada, board member for Open Door Group, chairing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Burnaby Board of Trade, and contributing as a Rix Committee Member with the Vancouver Board of Trade. These experiences underscore her dedication to fostering diverse, equitable, and vibrant communities—values that align closely with the mission of arts-focused organizations.
Rajvir holds a BA in Political Science from Simon Fraser University, an MA in Conflict Analysis and Management, and is a Certified Executive Coach from Royal Roads University. She is a proud mother of two daughters and enjoys supporting her family’s love of sports and arts. Rajvir is enthusiastic about advancing the arts sector and championing creative expression as a member of your board.
