Khelsilem
Khelsilem is a Sḵwx̱wú7mesh leader, facilitator, and community organizer whose work combines Indigenous governance, language revitalization, and cultural development. He has led initiatives in education, policy, and social change, focusing on building stronger, more self-determined communities. Khelsilem also works in the arts and public programming, creating spaces where artists and cultural workers can connect, reflect, and share strategies for working through complex times.
As a cultural organizer, Khelsilem creates and holds space for artists, thinkers, and leaders—especially those from racialized and marginalized communities—to come together, reflect, and strategize. He believes in the power of art as an organizing and mobilizing tool for imagining otherwise. In a world unravelling under the weight of crisis, Khelsilem’s work asks: How do we refuse despair and still create? How do we build solidarity through listening and strategy?
