Imaginal Airlines Flight A108 is a sonic experience through your imaginal airspace. The experience is part concert, part active meditation, and part return-journey to the Self. Flight A108 takes you through the ritual of airline travel, from check-in, gate, security, take-off and landing. The flight features a live musical performance by Imaginal Cells, a sextet who create sonic landscapes using gongs, percussion and strings.
For one night only, the Gong Library transforms into an immersive performance and communal experience.
The Flight:
Check-In: Welcome to Imaginal Airlines. You will be greeted by airline staff and issued personalized boarding documents.
Security/Customs: A reimagined threshold prepares you to shift attention inward. An invitation to reflect on memory and perception, primes you for your flight.
Boarding: Proceed to the gate area. You will board the flight into a space transformed for deep listening. Settle in and prepare for departure.
Takeoff & Flight (60 minutes): Passengers are encouraged to navigate their own imaginal airspace, travelling inwards into felt sense, perception, emotion, memory and emerging imagery.
Landing: Passengers land safely back to the terminal.
Duration: Approximately 2 hr (full experience from check-in to landing)

about the artist
imaginal airlines
Imaginal Airlines creates departures to support ways of seeing. We transform the familiar ritual of air travel into a container for deep listening and self-encounter. Through live music and embodied practices, we direct attention into the landscapes of consciousness, memory, and imagination.
We are a collective of musicians, artists, and contemplative practitioners dedicated to the art of inner travel, based in Vancouver, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Imaginal Cells, the live ensemble for each flight, is a revolving core of local musicians and guests that shifts form from one departure to the next. For Indian Summer 2026, performed by: Adrian Avendaño, Jen Yakamovich, Nikko Whitworth, Matthew Ariaratnam, Raj Gill, Aiden Ayers.
Raj Gill
Raj Gill makes work that treats perspective as something that can be held, shifted, and opened, and instability as raw material. His practice lives in states of energy and movement. From the immersive flights of Imaginal Airlines and the sonic worlds of the Gong Library to the Wheel of Time Gallery and virtual tours inside tear-down houses, his practice creates conditions for emergence. He draws on live sound, performance, clown, and relational aesthetics.
His work develops emergent, sonic, and embodied epistemological frameworks, exploring how we construct knowledge through non-linear, sensory, imaginal, and relational modes of knowing. Practices such as deep listening, active imagination, and improvisational play become pathways to understanding and meaning-making.
