Indian Summer Festival is thrilled to be a cultural partner for GenConnect’s annual Apna Mela!
Apna Mela is a joyful, intergenerational event, taking over Surrey’s Strawberry Hill Park, bringing together youth, seniors, families, and community members for a day brimming with cultural pride, meaningful connection, and community spirit.
Over the course of the day, experience a lively mix of interactive and inclusive cultural activities, including jaggo races, turban-tying competitions, traditional butter churning, peedhi making, and mehndi. Stick around to take in vibrant cultural performances and wander community booths showcasing local artisans, organizations, and entrepreneurs.
With delicious food, uplifting music, and activities for all ages, Apna Mela creates a welcoming space where generations come together to celebrate culture, strengthen relationships, and create lasting memories. At Apna Mela, everyone is welcomed as part of the family.
Apna Mela is free and does not require advance registration.
