Vikram Chandra

Red Earth and Pouring Rain, Love and Longing in Bombay, Sacred Games, and Mirrored Mind / Geek Sublime are the critically acclaimed, literary masterpieces of Vikram Chandra.

Born in New Delhi, Chandra came to the United States as an undergraduate student. His first book Red Earth and Pouring Rain was written over several years at the writing programs at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Houston, where he obtained his MA and MFA, respectively.

While writing Red Earth and Pouring Rain, Vikram taught literature and writing, and also worked independently as a computer programmer and software and hardware consultant. Returning to these roots and looking at the connections between the two worlds of art and technology, Chandra wrote Geek Sublime—a book of sweeping ideas, part literary theory, part tech story and part memoir.

In 2016, Sacred Games was chosen by Netflix to be their first original series from India. Featuring actors Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, the series is set to premiere on July 6, 2018.
