DJ Paisley Eva

DJ Paisley Eva hails from the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation village of Eslha7an and is based in what is colonially known as “Vancouver”. Paisley Eva has become a force to be reckoned with in BC’s music industry. She started DJing in Vancouver at 19 and soon afterward founded Dame Music Society, a non-profit organization that trained women and LGBTQIA2S+ folks to DJ in an effort to combat a white male-dominated industry and continues to teach to this day. Beyond her teaching, Paisley is also an event planner who started by planning shows with local and touring bands in DIY venues in her teens and now focuses on planning and organizing high-energy parties featuring Indigiqueer and 2S DJs, drag artists and performers. She has founded many nights over the years, but currently is co-founder and planner of Hotlatch, an Indigiqueer/2S celebration. Her work is based on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh teachings and is all about sharing equity within the music and event industry with marginalized bodies.
