Angie Osachoff

HONOURARY ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBER

Angie Osachoff (née Mapara) is one of Canada's most experienced practitioners in human rights education, anti-racism, and children's rights. Shaped by her family's history in Uganda and India, her work spans more than 30 years and reaches across communities, governments, and institutions nationwide.

Angie is the Director of Impact and Innovation at Equitas – the International Centre for Human Rights Education. Her work focuses on strengthening systems rooted in human rights, supporting youth leadership, and educating people about human rights in practical ways. She uses human rights as a tool for systems change and to address some of society’s most pressing challenges.

As past Chair of the Board of the Indian Summer Arts Society, Angie guided the organization through two leadership transitions and the challenges of COVID to a place where it now thrives. In this role, she has been intentional about creating space for the voices and leadership of South Asian women and artists, and strengthening the organization's foundation while ensuring South Asian culture is celebrated and embraced throughout the Lower Mainland.

Her work is grounded in dialogue, collaboration, and a deep commitment to building communities rooted in dignity, equity, and inclusion.
