A 3-part intergenerational community workshop series contemplating death and dying through slow textile arts and mindful movement practices facilitated by the 2025 Artists as Healers Shahir Krishna and Varsha Gill.
This free workshop series will be offered twice during Spring 2025:
Workshop Series 1: Saturday, March 15, March 22, march 29 | 10:00am – 3:00pm
Workshop Series 2: Sunday, April 27, May 4, May 11| 10:00am – 3:00pm
We seek to create an intergenerational space that welcomes people from all backgrounds looking to deepen their relationship with mortality. This project is grounded in the value of interconnectedness to all life; one that recognizes the importance of every one of us within it (human and more-than-human). Through community dialogue and ritual, we hope to move towards a place of acceptance and emotional resilience within ourselves, our families, our growing communities, and time itself.
We invite anyone who resonates with this perspective to join: healthcare workers and practitioners, artists (emerging and established), activists, community workers, seekers, spiritual teachers, caregivers, those facing life-limiting conditions.
This workshop series is free of charge. Tea, snacks, and a vegetarian lunch will be provided at each session.
If you wish to participate, please fill out and submit the registration form. The application deadline is Tuesday, March 4th 11:59pm. We ask that you are available for all listed dates. If you have a conflict with a date, you can still apply but please let us know in the form.
We want to make this work for you. Childcare and transportation costs can be reimbursed based on a mutual agreement agreed in advance of the workshop.
