The 2024 Indian Summer Festival was nothing short of remarkable! We welcomed 13,248 ticketed attendees—our second largest ticketed turnout ever. Sixty percent of our audience were first-time attendees, with a surge of fresh faces from the 28–43 age group, reflecting our expanding reach. Every event was sold out or filled to capacity, and feedback consistently emphasized how inclusive, safe, and welcoming our programs felt.

At this year’s festival, we invited audiences to step into the realm of PARADOX, where we aimed to transcend simplistic binaries and embrace complex, co-existing truths. PARADOX challenged the notion of a single, uniform truth, presenting a reality where growth and decay, life and death, occurred simultaneously in our finite and infinite selves. This exploration served as a gateway to a deeper, more authentic understanding of our existence.

The lineup was as diverse and vibrant as ever, showcasing groundbreaking performances, immersive art installations, and innovative music that spanned cultures and continents. We invited audiences to explore each event and immerse themselves in the creativity on display. With a stellar array of South Asian, Black, and Indigenous artists, significant representation from LGBTQ+ communities, and powerful female creators, the festival truly offered something for everyone.

As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on another remarkable year of resilience for the Indian Summer Arts Society. This year marked a continued evolution for our organization, with the festival flourishing under the leadership of our Co-Executive Directors, Pawan Deol and Laura June Albert. Their vision and energy are driving ISAS forward, inspiring new ideas, collaborations, and opportunities for both artists and audiences.
